The reunion that never was
Last weekend was Tevita's family reunion in San Francisco that we never made it to. Not that we didn't try... We made it all the way to Dallas and spent a great amount of time in the airport, but never got our connecting flight.
Once we figured out that we were not going to make the reunion, we decided to enjoy the small amount of time that we had in Dallas. We made it to the 6th Floor JFK Museum and walked around the grassy knoll. The JFK assassination happened before my time, but it's still an amazing part of our history that was quite sobering. We then toured downtown on foot and enjoyed a great seafood lunch.
In the evening we went to a country bar for some live music, dancing, pool playing, and some great pork ribs. We also took in some live bull riding, not any of that mechanical stuff. We actually ended up having a great time.
Just over the past few days I have felt like someone is taking a little bull ride inside my belly. The pitter patter of little feet are beginning to catch my attention at all hours of the day and night. I'm loving every minute of it.
Shang is now begging to go out for a walk so I better oblige.
