The Avalon

Our house....
In the middle of our street.
Our house....

So we've finally taken the plunge.
After taking one walk through the house we knew this was it. (Okay I said that after every house, but this was a deep down feeling that really felt right). We're buying a Sears Roebuck Catalog house that was originally sold for $2,520. Our model is called the Avalon, which is a small bungalow. Since our offer was accepted I've been placing furniture in my mind and picturing Shang sleeping in the backyard. It's difficult to concentrate and focus on other things. However, if you were to talk to Tevita you would have a whole different picture. Although he loves the house, he's much more relaxed about the upcoming plunge. I think I need to take some lessons from him since we have over a month before the move.

I thought I'd share a few photos from last weekends Father's Day pool excursion. The point was to relax and enjoy each others company, which Dad definitely did with his laptop in hand. Marin and Dinah are growing so fast.

Music of Life

Music is entering my life again.
I go through phases where I totally enjoy silence when doing activities such as driving, cleaning, walking Shang and cooking. It gives me time to relax and sit with my thoughts. But recentely I listened to the song "Seasons of Love" from the Broadway Show Rent and I've been thrown back into accompanying my time with tunes. This has put a bounce back in my step and encouraged me to become more active. Funny how music can do that.

Last weekend Tevita and I decided to take a walk across our famous Purple People Bridge, I'm still not fond of that name. Maybe I need to come up with my own creative name, but then no one would know what I was talking about. Anyway, we went to an Italian Festival in Newport where we enjoyed wonderful food and music.

Wednesday I woke up to a complaining Tevita who was holding his jaw. A pain in his tooth caused a normally pleasant person to become agitated and not someone that I wanted to be around. So Thursday, bright and early, he was off to the dentist to get a cracked wisdom tooth pulled. After a bit of medication we are now both happier.

Happy Father's Day DAD!!!
Thanks for the support, trust and guidance.
I wouldn't be who I am without your example.

Love,
Adrianne

Enjoying Life

Our calender is slowly filling and there are more and more enjoyable activities to partake in on the weekends. Last week was a friends wedding celebration and our famous Taste of Cincinnati Festival.

The Taste has a wide array of local restaurants that display samples of their famous dishes. One of our top picks was Montgomery Inn's fall off the bone ribs. Spectacularly, why was I ever a vegetarian, good. We also ran into The Naked Cowboy who was busy pleasing the crowd. I didn't want to get too close and be cast under his dizzying spell.

Last night we were joined for dinner by some Peace Corps friends, Dan and Katrina, in town for the weekend. Although I don't see them often, it's always a blast reminiscing and getting updated on life State side. I also want to wish my friend Joel, who happened to be playing last night, an amazing birthday.

There's nowhere else I'd rather be.
